Hi Teresa! I’ve heard many powerlifters mention upper back tightness as well, but I do not believe this is due to that. The back leans in order to shift moment arms and muscle lengths. Knees shoot back which increases hip extension demands and diminishes knee extension demands, hammies lengthen to be in a better position for force production, etc. In my opinion, the back leaning (and back rounding in deadlifting) is not due to back (spinal extension) weakness. It’s due to weaker quads compared to hips/hammies. But it’s always good to hear other opinions, so thank you for chiming in!

I believe that. I think I’m a creatine non-responder as I can never tell a difference when I’m taking it (so I stopped a while back) but it’s one of the most researched sports supplements out there and the majority of studies show a benefit (what you’re asking about is more volume in the cell and that has support in the literature).

Try Tennessee, no state income taxes, low taxes in general and less regulations. I think about moving there but ive worked at this place for too long to start over. Contact Kalle Beck of Starting Strongman, he did a ton of research and moved from Cali to Tennessee.

I had plantar fasciitis and my feet hurt like all the time. But when i started training barefoot , especially squats the pain Went away. Also standing calf raises.

Extra soreness comes with being older, im 48 and i get a lot sorer than i used to doing the same exercises. I found taking creatine helps a lot. Apparently it does a whole ton of stuff besides muscle gain. It rebuilds mitochondria, improves heart and mental function and a bunch of other stuff. I definitely feel a difference in my heart thats for sure. Article is on T-Nation.

Have a good one
